Ratings

How do I rate the books I read, you might ask? This system isn't fool-proof, but here goes.

One Star:

This will probably never happen, so if it does... Wow. I don't even know what to say. There have only been a few instances when I honestly hate very much dislike a book, so this is where those books would go.

(If you want a full spiel/rant about how reviewers aren't supposed to bring others down, see my Goodreads profile description for more details.)

Two Stars:

Honestly, this is a little more likely to happen. I've read quite a few books that I sort of like but don't give me the right vibe, if that makes any sense. They may just not be for me, but something major was off in my reading experience.

Three Stars:

I liked it but it didn't give me the "OMG I LOVE THIS BOOK!" feel, you know? This rating and the two star rating are extremely close in my head. Where a book falls in these two categories just depends on how the book made me feel overall. For instance, if I like many aspects of a book but there is one major aspect I don't like much at all, or if the book is really good but it doesn't stand out to me, it would probably fall here. If there are a bunch of little aspects that rub me the wrong way or if something wasn't quite good enough, it would probably fall in two stars. It just depends on how the book makes me feel.

Four Stars:

This book is honestly great and is so close but misses the top of the AWESOMENESS meter by just a teeny bit. Usually the books that make me feel amazing and make my heart stop while reading are the ones that fall here because they usually don't leave as much of an impression later (which definitely is not a bad thing and is not to say that they don't leave an impression, and like I said before, they usually miss it by the tiniest margin).

Drum roll, please...
Five Stars!

This book is so amazing and I could rant all day about it and I just love everything about it and everything ties together so perfectly. Couldn't get much better than this.

I'm going to come right out and say it... I'm a very easy-to-please reader, so my average rating is kind of high. Don't take that as me saying I don't write honest reviews because all my reviews are my honest opinions, but if you're looking for one of those reviewers who cracks down on every little mistake and hates a lot of books, you won't find one here.

Thanks, and au revoir!
